12 Projects Receive Awards at the Green Toy Contest Organized By Marzinc and The Karabük Enviormental Association
Marzinc, a recovery factory that operates at Karabük, and Karabük Enviormental Associations mutual vision, brought the “Green Toy Contest” to life and gave the winning students of this competition their awards. 126 projects were submitted from 21 different middle schools and high schools. Out of these projects, 12 very creative projects were chosen to be eligible. Within the projects, which used common household waste as building material, Onur Ayhan, Beytullah Tutar and Zeki Gokhan Demircan from the Karabük Industry Career high school created a motorcycle toy made out of metal and won first place in the high school category while Pınar Sarı from Çamkent middle school won first place in the middle school category with a dress made out of cassette tape. The competitors in the competition that qualified for an award received their awards from Karabük Govenor’s assistant Tarkan Keskin, Karabük Mayor’s assistant Fatma Danışman, and Enviorment and Urban Development President Bünyamin Coşkun. Throughout the competition, the projects that were displayed gained the mutual liking of the participants. Students who came from a variety of different schools, added great entertainment with folklore, dance, music, poetry and sports. With the support of Karabük Governor's Office, Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urban Planning, Provincial National Education Directorate and supported by the Municipality of Karabük, the Green Toy Contest, for the first time, brought together public and civil society as well as the private sector and an enviormental project all in one space.
